We are now recruiting for our first cafe in London, Soho opening in January 2019 !

We are currently looking for an experienced cafe Chef to join our team based in Berwick Street, Soho, our first London shop. The role will involve preparing sandwiches, interesting salads, breakfast and lunch dishes, and making some of our bakery items too.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Experienced in working in a busy cafe or restaurant

  • Passionate about cooking with quality ingredients, and producing beautiful looking plates

  • Motivated, demonstrating a great work ethic and a positive and friendly attitude

  • The ability to ensure a clean and safe working environment

  • Willing to accommodate a flexible working schedule

  • Experienced in producing baked goods (advantageous but not essential)



The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a friendly and positive team player, who enjoys customer interaction

  • Have barista experience (favourable but not essential, we can provide training)

  • Have experience working in busy cafés or restaurants (table service experience an advantage)

  • Be able to work efficiently and professionally in a lively, fast-paced environment




The ideal candidate will:

  • Have at least 1 year’s Barista experience

  • Be able to consistently texture milk for multiple drinks, and pour great latte art for every coffee, working accurately and quickly

  • Be able to adjust grind to produce great tasting shots all day long

  • Have a structured and organised approach to busy periods, having an eye for detail, and maintaining a clean and tidy work-space to ensure effective work-flow at all times

  • Be an engaging, fun team player, who enjoys interacting with customers





The ideal candidate will:

  • Have at least 2 years’ experience in an exceptionally busy and fast-paced table service environment

  • Be knowledgeable about the requirements of a busy, central London café or restaurant and use their initiative to apply this knowledge on a day-to-day basis.

  • Work closely with the General Manager to generate new ideas and strategies that will ensure the best possible customer experience.

  • Be confident in their ability to successfully motivate a team, provide exceptional customer service and ensure the smooth running of the entire café in the GMs absence.

  • Be interested and enthused about Swedish style ingredients and recipes, as well as high quality coffee and cocktails (barista experience advantageous)

  • Be integral to the development and success of Söderberg as we expand in London
