Experienced Restaurant Manager - EDINBURGH

We are looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our team at Söderberg Pavilion in the Quartermile, Edinburgh. Söderberg is a café business with a bakery and eight branches in Edinburgh and London. We serve high quality, authentically Swedish food in Scandi inspired spaces.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have at least 2 years’ experience in an exceptionally busy and fast-paced table service environment.

  • Share our view that an exceptional customer experience is key to driving sales. In Söderberg, this includes warm yet efficient service, a seasonal and varied offer and timeless Scandinavian design.

  • Structure and motivate a team in order to ensure the smooth running of an already established and successful restaurant.

  • Take responsibility for all aspects of cost control including profit margins and correct staffing.

  • Have previous experience in implementing and maintaining excellent food hygiene standards.

  • Be interested in learning all about Scandi style food culture and recipes as well as high quality coffee and cocktails (barista and/or bartender experience advantageous).

  • Organise and promote the Sunday night Jazz evenings as well as bringing new ideas to the table for future events. 

  • Be integral to the development and success of Söderberg as we expand.

CAFÉ CHEF - LONDON

We are currently looking for an experienced cafe Chef to join our team based in Berwick Street, Soho, our first London shop. The role will involve preparing sandwiches, interesting salads, breakfast and lunch dishes, and making some of our bakery items too.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Experienced in working in a busy cafe or restaurant

  • Passionate about cooking with quality ingredients, and producing beautiful looking plates

  • Motivated, demonstrating a great work ethic and a positive and friendly attitude

  • The ability to ensure a clean and safe working environment

  • Willing to accommodate a flexible working schedule

  • Experienced in producing baked goods (advantageous but not essential)

FRONT OF HOUSE - EDINBURGH & LONDON
The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a friendly and positive team player, who enjoys customer interaction

  • Have barista experience (favourable but not essential, we can provide training)

BARISTAS - EDINBURGH & LONDON
The ideal candidate will:

  • Have at least 1 year’s Barista experience

  • Be able to consistently texture milk for multiple drinks, and pour great latte art for every coffee, working accurately and quickly

  • Be able to adjust grind to produce great tasting shots all day long

  • Have a structured and organised approach to busy periods, having an eye for detail, and maintaining a clean and tidy work-space to ensure effective work-flow at all times

  • Be an engaging, fun team player, who enjoys interacting with customers

EXPERIENCED SUPERVISOR - LONDON

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have at least 2 years’ experience in an exceptionally busy and fast-paced table service environment

  • Be knowledgeable about the requirements of a busy, central London café or restaurant and use their initiative to apply this knowledge on a day-to-day basis.

  • Work closely with the General Manager to generate new ideas and strategies that will ensure the best possible customer experience.

  • Be confident in their ability to successfully motivate a team, provide exceptional customer service and ensure the smooth running of the entire café in the GMs absence.

  • Be interested and enthused about Swedish style ingredients and recipes, as well as high quality coffee and cocktails (barista experience advantageous)

  • Be integral to the development and success of Söderberg as we expand in London
